    Kerala Kalamandalam Declares 2022 Awards

    Venu G and Madambi Subhramaniyan Namboodiri receive fellowships

    Kerala Kalamandalam, a deemed university, has announced fellowships, awards, and endowments for the year 2022. The recipients of the prestigious fellowships are Koodiyattam exponent G Venu and Kathakali sangeetham maestro Madambi Subhramaniyan Namboodiri. The fellowships encompass a cash award of ₹50,000, a citation, and a Ponnada.

    The awardees in various categories include R L V Damodara Pisharody (Kathakali vesham); Kalamandalam Narayanan Namboodiri (Kathakali music); Kalamandalam Balasundaran (Chenda); Kalamandalam Gopikuttan Nair (Maddalam); Balakrishnan C P (Aniyara); Kalamandalam Narayanan Nambiar (Mizhavu); Kalamandalam Bhageswari (Mohiniyattam); Sukumaran Nair (Thullal); K V Jageeshan Master (Carnatic Music). These awards carry a prize of ₹30,000, along with citations and Ponnada.

    Pallam Chandran has been honored with the M K K award for his overall contribution, while Kalamandalam Venu Mohan receives the Young Talent award. Notable winners of various endowments include M K Aniyan (Mukundaraja Smrithi Puraskaram), Oyur Ramachandran (Kalaratnam Endowment), Asiad Sasi Marar, Ilathalam (A S N Nambeeshan Puraskaram), Kalamandalam Prashanti, Koodiyattam (Painkulam Ramachakyar smaraka Puraskaram), and Kalamandalam Prashija, Mohiniyattam (Dr. V.S. Sharma Endowment Award), Kalamandalam Sivan Namboodiri (Killimangalam Vasudevan Namboodiripad Smaraka Award), Pradeep Arattupuzha( Vadakkan Kannan Nair Smrithi Puraskaram), Kalamandalam Vishwas(Bhagawathar Kunjunni Tampuran Puraskaram), Anjali K S ( Pakaravoor Chitran Namboodiripad Janmashadabdi Smaraka Endowment) Kalamandalam M K Jyoti( K S Divakaran Nair Smaraka Puraskaram. Additionally, Pallipuram Unnikrishnan receives the Kalagrandhram award for his book “Kathakaliyute Aniyara Lokam,” while Anoop Vellani and Sreejith Vellani are recognized for the best documentary award for their production “Naadabhairavi.”
