How to perform Jagamthanamthari adavu?

In the last part, we discussed the first three adavus of Jaganam in Mohiniyattam. Here we are discussing the next set of Jaganam adavus.

Jagamthanamthari Adavu 4

Chollu

x Jagam ta1 Nam tari2 Nagam ta3 Nam tari
x Jagam tav Nam tariv Nagam tav Nam tari

Hold Mushti gesture in both hands and stand in half-sit position (Aramandalam). Both Mushti-s should be facing downward.

Then, for the ‘Jagamthanamthari’ change Mushti into Tripatakam and finally to Hamsasyam bend as shown in the picture and come back to the half-sit position and stand as shown in the fourth picture. This Adavu finishes in that position.

Jagamthanamthari Adavu – 5

Chollu

x Jagam ta1 Nam tari2 Kum tari3 Ta
x Nagam tav Nam tarix Kum tariv ta

Do the first part of this Adavu in the same way as the previous one. Together with that do the ‘thithithei’ for the ‘kuntharitha’. From the position shown in the fourth picture take both hands upwards and get to the Samam position going through the half-sit position. In another style of Mohiniyattam this Adavu finishes in half-sit position.

Jagamthanamthari Adavu – 6

Chollu

x Jagam ta1 Nam tari2 Kum tari3 Ta
x Nagam tav Nam tarix Kum tariv ta

The third Adavu also starts similar to Adavu 4. The second part of the sixth Adavu is similar to the fifth Adavu except that the hand gestures used should be Mushti and Thripathaka.
