As a part of the yearly Chembai Music Fest, Guruvayoor Devaswom is conducting a first-of-its-kind National Music Seminar on Nov 17, 2022, at the Sreevalsam Annex Hall, Guruvayoor at 9 am. Musician Dr. K Omanakutty will inaugurate the seminar. Musicologist and art critic Prof. George S Paul will present a paper on ‘Vedas and Music’, and Musician Dr. K N Ranganatha Sharma will present a paper on the ‘Aesthetics of Rakti Ragas in Carnatic Music. Vocalist Dr. B Arundhati will be the moderator. Dr. V K Vijayan, Chairman Guruvayoor Devaswom will preside over the meeting. Prof Vaikom Venugopal will deliver the introductory remarks. C Manoj, Chembai Sangeetholsavam Sub committee convener will welcome the gathering.
Sree Guruvayoorappan Chembai Puraskaram will be conferred on Mridangist Trivandrum V Surendran on Nov 18. The music fest will begin on Nov 18 with the inaugural concert of Vighnesh Iswar who will be accompanied by Tiruvizha Sivanandan on Violin, Trivandrum V Surendran on Mridangam and Aluva Rajesh on Ghatam.
