Uday Balakrishnan is a former officer of the Indian Postal Service. He now teaches Public Policy and Contemporary History at the Indian Institue of Science Bangalore. He is a columnist, book reviewer. He has organized major national and international exhibitions including India 80 Asia's largest philatelic exhibition in which some of the world's leading philatelists and postal administrations of over 100 countries participated. His exhibition on Etikoppaka - A Gandhian Village was held in the Open Society Archives - Budapest. His latest exhibition, 'India on My Mind,' was held at the Indian Institue of Science Bangalore and widely considered one of the largest cartographic exhibition held in the country. Dr Balakrishnan was the Principal Adviser to the much acclaimed 2014 Kochi Biennale Exhibition.
